The Medina County Police Activities League (MCPAL) is looking for an energetic part time Program Coordinator (flexible schedule, 10-15/week). The position will undertake a variety of administrative and program coordination tasks; includes helping in planning and organizing MCPAL after school programs and activities as well as carry out important administrative duties. Responsibilities will include coordinating field trips, monthly meals and special events at our after school programs; maintain a positive social media presence; writing and sending out quarterly newsletter; maintaining donor database and program statistics; assisting in monthly financials; basic grant writing and reporting and assisting at community events.
We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for helping youth in Medina County, self starter and highly motivated with strong organizational skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. You will be successful if you possess a “Get It Right” attitude with the ability to see the big picture and manage practical details.
MCPAL is a registered 501c3. Our mission is to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth by utilizing educational, athletic, and recreational activities.
The MCPAL program is unique in that it is staffed and supported by police officers and police departments in Medina County, Ohio. The MCPAL program brings youth under the supervision and positive influence of law enforcement and expands public awareness about the role of a police officer. It is based on the conviction that young people, if reached early enough, can develop strong, positive attitudes towards officers and be more likely to respect the laws that officers enforce.
By utilizing educational, athletic, and recreational activities, MCPAL aims to give youth an opportunity to both de-stress and have fun in a safe, caring environment. Currently, the MCPAL program is held in the school districts of Brunswick, Cloverleaf, Highland, Medina and Wadsworth. Programs are typically held twice weekly at each location, with special events throughout the summer.
